The Route

Day 1
-
Arrival, transfer to basecamp, bike setup and a full briefing on the days ahead. Welcome dinner with the local guide team.

Day 2
Chendu · Sijing Temple
Bike setup and jet lag recovery; Classic Chengdu Trail: Ridgeline Traverse + Wooded Sections. Estimated ride time: 3h, then transfer from Chengdu to Kangding for the night.

Day 3
Kangding · Ertaizi
The climb is mellow, rolling past a prime snow peak viewpoint at 4,050m. The descent is raw: loose, chunky rocks, rowdy and highly technical. It’s a leg-burner, but the alpine views more than justify the effort. Estimated ride time: 5h

Day 4
Kangding · Baihaizi
Out-and-back route, up and down the same trail. High point: 4,250m with jaw-dropping alpine vistas throughout. Some technical sections require mandatory hike-a-bike. Estimated moving time: 6h.

Day 5
-
A built-in recovery day to rest the legs, service bikes and further acclimatise ahead of the biggest riding days.

Day 6
Kangding · Yala Snow Mountain Valley
Kangding Classic Return MTB Route. 80% flowy valley track, 20% steep pass push to 4200m. No whining—every glimpse of the sacred peaks makes the slog worth it. ~6hr ride, then straight to the hot springs.

Day 7
-
Self-drive the iconic G318 — the most storied and scenic artery linking the Han heartlands to the Tibetan Plateau. This is no mere road; it’s a rolling pilgrimage through gorges, past glacial peaks, and over high-altitude passes.

Day 8
Litang · Gnenya Pasture Line
Out-and-back route (mellow, low-intensity). We’ll pass plenty of hikers, trading high-fives and cheers the whole way. The sacred Genie Massif watches over the entire ride, ending at Lenggu Monastery tucked at the foot of the peak. Estimated moving time: 4h

Day 9
Litang · Gnenya V Line
Zero filler, all killer. Altitude peaks at 4,250m, the stoke’s maxed, everything’s dialed to 11. Leave nothing in the tank—send every tech section, burn every last match of your fitness and skill. Ride till the battery’s dead before the transfer back to Chengdu—no saving a single watt for the drive home.

Day 10
-
Grand Finale: G318 Transfer to Chengdu. That’s a wrap on the riding portion — it’s the classic post-epic wind-down every multi-day MTB trip comes with. We’ll transfer back to Chengdu along the legendary G318 (the iconic Sichuan-Tibet Highway) for a full day, with giant pandas waiting to greet us once we hit the city. The long haul gives us plenty of time to watch the plateau landscape roll by as we let the past few days of unforgettable MTB stoke sink in: the Genie Massif’s watchful gaze the whole way, the quiet of Lenggu Monastery, the haizi scattered like gems across alpine meadows, and that leg-burning 4,250m tech push that left us with zero watts saved. Every high-five with hikers, every loose rock garden we sent, every meadow cruise — all etched into the memory bank.
